Description

The Heavy Duty Mechanic will perform a variety of activities designed to service, repair & maintain Semis, Trailers & Tractors for Jody Holdings Ltd.

Responsibilities:
Service, repair & maintain Semis, Trailers & Tractors
Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections & diagnostic tests.
Adjust equipment & repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using appropriate tools.
Test repaired equipment for proper performance & to ensure that work meets manufactures specifications.
Clean, lubricate, & perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
Maintain automotive & equipment service records.
Maintain a schedule of preventative maintenance on all equipment providing for lubrication, replacement of tires & tune ups.
Preform other work as required.

Knowledge & Qualifications:
Heavy Duty Mechanic certification an asset
Possession of a Valid Drivers Licence required, 1A preferred.
Thorough knowledge of tools & equipment needed for the overhaul, repair & maintenance of Semis, Trailers & Tractors.
Knowledge & a high degree of skill in diagnosis of trouble reported on various pieces of equipment.
Ability to keep records of repairs, time & parts used for the servicing of automotive equipment.
Skill in the use of instruments & tools employed in the checking & repair of motors & special equipment.
Excellent mechanical aptitude, coordination & dexterity

Physical Abilities:
Will frequently be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl & occasionally sit. Reach with hands & arms & climb & balance.
Must be able to work on feet (standing or walking) for the entire assigned work shift.
Must be capable of heavy lifting & moving parts up to 50lbs on a consistent basis.
