Description

The RM of Cymri No. 36 is accepting applications for an Utility Maintenance Operator.  Preference will be given to applications with a minimum Class 3A License and have experience in the operation of graders, loaders, tractors and mowers, packers, tandem gravel trucks, etc.

This position is responsible for accepting work orders from the Superintendent to ensure the RM of Cymri shop, roadways, shoulders, bridges, culverts, ditches, signs, depots, trees, vegetation, line markings and general maintenance are appropriately executed to ensure public safety.

Duties may include road maintenance, hauling gravel, crack filling, sand sealing, mowing, sign maintenance, equipment maintenance and other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 drivers license;
- Acceptable drivers abstract;
- Can frequently lift and carry items up to 50lbs;
- Can push, pull, lift, sit, stand, walk and crouch for extended periods;
- Willing and able to work outside in all weather conditions;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Ability to learn new processes and procedures easily;
- Demonstrated flexibility in adapting to a wide variety of tasks;
- Able to obtain all applicable safety tickets upon onboarding;
- Ability to work independently, as well as with a team;
- Ability to identify and report any malfunctions or concerns to the Superintendent;
- Ability to operate various vehicles and equipment safety;
- Ability to check, lubricate, refuel and clean equipment.
- Union dues, to be paid monthly, as per International Union of Operating Engineers Hoisting and Portable and Stationary: Local 870 Agreement.

Assets:
- Class 1A Drivers license;
- Experience  in the operation of graders, loaders, tractors and mowers, packers, tandem gravel trucks, etc;
