Description

Duties and Responsibilities:
Research best practice and provide resources appropriate for implementation of curricula
To encourage and facilitate innovative and creative teaching practices and resources so that concepts can be taught in ways that are relevant to students.
To enhance teacher learning and professional knowledge to facilitate changes in thinking and practices where necessary.
In cooperation with the staff and Principal, organize the instructional Language Arts program of the school and provide leadership in the field of curriculum development while ensuring that provincial curriculum requirements are being met.
Catalyst Mentors are engaged collaboratively in establishing school action plans, coordinating improvement activities and evaluating school progress in relation to the school learning focus.
Help set and maintain the schools focus when other initiatives are encouraged.
In cooperation with the Principal, coordinate the schedules, plan for in servicing and facilitate support such as weekly meetings for Catalyst Educational Assistants (if applicable)
Promote and encourage parental communication through family literacy programming to expand sharing the love of reading and lifelong learning.

Qualifications and Requirements:
A Bachelor Degree in Education.
Minimum five (5) years of teaching experience.
Saskatchewan Professional A Teachers' Certification.
Experience working within First Nations' Schools and Communities.
Excellent communication skills (Verbal/Written); decision making skills; professional judgment skills.  
    Excellent interpersonal, time-management, and organizational skills.
    Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in computer software applications (i.e. Microsoft-Excel, Word
