Description

RIWC (Regina Immigrant Women Centre) is a non-profit organization providing services to newcomer women and their families.  RIWC is entrusted with providing settlement services to newcomer nurses under the SPIN (Settlement Path for International Nurses) who will be working in rural communities in Saskatchewan.  We are hiring a Caseworker to play a crucial role to assist the nurses upon their arrival, help them navigate the transition process, and ensure a smooth integration into the local healthcare system and community. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, flexible, and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Job Requirements
Coordinate and provide airport pick-up upon their arrival
Welcome and assist the nurses in getting acquainted to the local environment, resources and services
Assist nurses in securing suitable housing in the local area, considering their preferences and budget constraints.
Assist in the filing of paperwork and documents required for them to begin their clinical work
Provide guidance on obtaining health insurance coverage and access to healthcare services
Offer emotional support and encouragement and assist with any concerns
Foster relationships between nurses and members of the local community and connect them with local resources
Flexibility in working hours to accommodate the needs of nurses, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
Travel to rural communities and overnight stay in rural communities may be required
Ongoing communication with nurses to provide support

Qualifications
A diploma/degree in social work or human services field
Experience in casework, settlement services, or working with newcomers is highly desirable.
Familiarity with rural Saskatchewan communities is an asset.
Strong interpersonal skills. Cultural sensitivity to effectively communicate with diversity.
Fluency in English is required. Tagalog is preferable.
MUST have a valid driver's license & access to car
