The shift maintenance position will entail a weekly rotation of shifts to ensure coverage of maintenance issues which may arise in both hotels (James & Sheraton Cavalier). The shift maintenance primary responsibility is to ensure guest satisfaction (external and internal guests) by maintaining, trouble shooting and fixing issues that arise in varying degrees. They are also the chief investigation officer in emergency situations such as fire alarms.
Utilize two way radio (with ear piece) to communicate professionally & effectively with co-workers.
Utilize the Blackberry to answer deficiencies while on shift, communicating follow up on such issues
Conduct shift floor walks of both James & Sheraton (public areas & corridors) changing bulbs and being proactive of potential issues/repairs
Handle basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues throughout entire hotel, ability to reset breaker panels; including electrical and mechanical rooms
Perform minor maintenance/repairs (windows, doors, locks, TVs, switches, thermostats, furnishings, plugs, equipment, appliances, sinks, toilets, etc)
Shift huddle with supervisor & cross over shift to review concerns you should be aware of
Review Starguest log/assignments & work orders to prioritize
Complete daily check list involving your particular shift
Basic repairs on commercial kitchen cooking equipment & laundry equipment
Conduct regular checks/maintenance & logs of boiler/chiller, gas meters, pump rooms, fire trees, Enercon room, and mechanical room
Regular maintenance & cleaning of coils, filters, vents, ducts, belts on kitchen equipment; as well as cleaning of grease traps
Removal of waste / recycles from kitchen and lower level (James Hotel) during evening shift hours
Cleaning of equipment, air filters, vents, coils, fans in Laundry Department
Backwash/fill pool, filters, baskets; and conduct regular checks, reads, and necessary
