Responsibilities include:
-Provide logistical and technical support for exploration/development programs as directed. These duties include:
o Collecting and interpreting field data primarily related to the logging of drill core
o Entering data in project database ensuring accuracy
o Assisting with daily core handling functions (measuring, sampling, photography, moving full core boxes, etc.)
o Completing down hole probing data acquisition
o Providing written / oral presentation of results: maps, sections, tables, etc
o May be required to assist in supervision of geo-technicians
Skills and Qualifications:
-Degree in geology (B.Sc., M.Sc.) plus four years minimum experience in exploration
-Professional Geoscientist designation or education and relevant work experience to obtain Professional Geoscientist designation in Saskatchewan
-Solid background in geology, structural geology and geochemistry
-Experience in uranium exploration is an asset
-Good computer skills are essential; familiarity with Geosoft Products (Oasis Montaj, Target, DAP), acQuire, ArcGIS and Microsoft Office are an asset
-Good understanding of geophysical data
-Good communication skills, sharing information with other exploration team members
-Must be scientific and logical, able to summarize large amounts of data
-Good decision making abilities
-Excellent social skills, prepared to work in difficult and isolated conditions
-Must be fit (physically and mentally) to work in remote locations with challenging terrain
-Valid Class 5 drivers license
-Experience in the use of snowmobiles, ATVs or equivalent and four wheel drive trucks is an asset
Work Location & Schedule:
-Saskatoon Corporate Office
-Several weeks or months in exploration camps and mine sites, with a significant component during the winter months. During field programs, a rotation of three weeks in the field and one week out is typical
