The Cultural Health Navigator will help to strengthen and expand a front-line approach to providing a culturally-grounded HIV/HCV and other STBBI prevention and support services, including harm reduction.
Duties
Deliver prevention education sessions, harm reduction workshops, and cultural programming to various audiences such as local community organizations, people who use ANHN services, and conferences attendees
Establish workshop frequency/schedules and manage event promotion/logistics
Engage Elders and Knowledge Keepers to guide and support staff in the design and delivery of cultural programming
Identify informed non-Indigenous stakeholders with experience serving Indigenous people effectively; partner in workshop design and delivery.
Design, develop, and integrate services with Awasiw and other ANHN programming
Other duties as required
Qualifications
Relevant post-secondary degree or certificate or equivalent work experience in the field
Related experience in trauma-informed care, crisis support, substance use, mental health, and addiction
Demonstrated experience working with the complex needs of people experiencing homelessness, mental health and substance use
Demonstrated knowledge of community agencies and their relevant programs and services
Demonstrated knowledge of harm reduction practices and Indigenous Knowledge systems
Experience using Office 365
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Valid Class 5 Driver's license
