Responsibilities:
-Working on Oranos exploration projects, in accordance with the direction of the Project Geologists and/or the Project Geophysicist
-Providing logistical and technical support for exploration/development programs as directed by the Project Geologists. These duties include, but are not limited to:
o Assist with drill core related activities (measuring, labelling, radiometry, moving full core boxes)
o Down hole probing data acquisition
o Probing data QA/QC
o Probing data processing & interpretation
o Infrared Spectrometry measurements on drill core (TerraSpec)
o Physical property measurements on drill core (density, resistivity, magnetic susceptibility)
o Computer data entry into the project database
o Providing written / oral presentation of results, as required
Skills and Qualifications:
-Geophysical/Geological technologist or technician diploma
-Previous experience working at exploration sites and/or logistically difficult areas is an asset
-Mechanical/electronic knowledge and skills an asset
-Excellent computer skills
-Ability to physically work in difficult and isolated conditions
-Valid Class 5 drivers license
-Experience operating snowmobiles is considered an asset
-Excellent communication skills
-Good organizational skills, task-oriented and rigorous approach required
-Excellent social skills and ability to work in a team environment
Work Location & Schedule:
-Predominantly a field-based position in Northern Saskatchewan; isolated exploration camps or mine sites on a three week in and one week out field rotation
-Saskatoon Corporate Office
-Normally an 8 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours may be required
-This position requires moderate physical ability with ability to work in difficult and isolated conditions
