Description

As the Medical Assistant, you will be part of a dynamic team of healthcare professionals who will be helping to support the patient experience from first contact with the clinic to post-treatment care as well as ensuring the efficient operations of a busy practice.
The position reports directly to the Medical Director and Founder of the practice, Dr. Mulla, and helps maintain and support all Clinic Programs, for circumcision, vasectomy, and other procedures.

Responsibilities will include:
- Schedule and confirm medical appointments and receive and communicate messages
for other staff and patients.
- Enter and format electronically based medical reports and correspondence and prepare
documents for review.
- Interview patients in order to complete forms, documents and case histories.
- Complete insurance and other claim forms.
- Initiate and maintain confidential medical files and records.
- Prepare financial statements and billings.
- Order supplies and maintain inventory.
- Maintain various internal office administrative support procedures such as document
tracking and filing.

Qualifications and Competencies  Required:
- Experience in a medical assistant role is preferred.
- Experience with EMR or Accuro is considered an asset.
- Outstanding customer relationship management skills..
- Effective telephone skills and predicated on strong polite communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, to multitask, and to work as part of a team and also independently with minimal direction.
- Experience in financial management responsibilities and reporting.
- Ability to schedule patient appointments.
- Ability to keyboard 45+ words per minute.
- Ability to organize work in a neat and orderly manner.
- Ability to take initiative, anticipate potential problems/conflicts and take appropriate action.
- Ability to establish/maintain satisfactory and professional work relationships with staff.
