Description

Overview:
As a Supported Independent Living Program (SILP) Support Worker at NorthSask Special Needs, you play a vital role in ensuring the ongoing support, health, and safety of our clients. Reporting to the Day Program Manager, you'll provide personalized care, promoting a clean and safe environment while adhering to organizational policies and safe work practices.

Responsibilities:
Support clients with daily living skills, fostering independence.
Collaborate with each client to establish a weekly schedule based on their needs and abilities.
Ensure fair task distribution among clients with roommates.
Provide transportation for medical appointments and weekly grocery shopping, considering extreme weather conditions.
Encourage personal growth, community involvement, and independence.
Support personal hygiene, including medication management and mental/physical health.
Respond effectively to emergencies, including aggression, substance abuse, seizures, and missing persons.
Assist with food preparation, promoting nutritious meals.
Maintain accurate resident records and progress notes per company policy.

Qualifications:
Grade 12 diploma; Secondary Certificate in Disability Support Worker, Certified Care Assistant, or similar designation is an asset.
Experience in providing personal care for individuals.
Professional oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
Valid drivers license.
Basic computer skills.
CPIC with Vulnerable Sector Clearance is required.
