Credit Union Spark Centre Summer Camp Inclusive Program Facilitator

The City of Weyburn is an equal opportunity employer located in the heart of Southeast Saskatchewan. The Leisure Services Department is offering an exciting opportunity to work at Weyburn Credit Union Spark Centre as a Summer Camp Inclusive Program Facilitator. The City of Weyburn welcomes all qualified candidates to apply.
Responsibilities:
Will provide one-on-one supervision, support and care for children with intellectual disabilities;
Will work in conjunction with other Program staff to plan, co-ordinate and facilitate quality of sport, culture
and recreation activities for the Spark Summer Camp;
Ensures that all activities are designed and facilitated to meet the needs and abilities of the participants;
Adhere to and interpret staff policies, practices and procedures of the Summer Camp;
Ensure safety and confidentiality of participants;
Maintain required documentation, records and reports as required;
Provide weekly reports, attend meetings and scheduled planned events within the workday;
Primary role is to help all children ages 6-11 years develop intellectually, socially, physically and emotionally
by creating opportunities for planned and spontaneous play; and
Act as a positive role model at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
Students hired must be at least 15 years of age or older, enrolled as a student at a secondary or postsecondary school or institution;
Experience with people who have intellectual disabilities preferred;
Some knowledge of sports, culture, and recreation
Belief in Inclusion and respect for children with challenges.
Additional Information:
Job Status  Seasonal (July 3rd  August 29th, 2024)
Wage  In accordance with CUPE Local 90 Agreement.
