PURPOSE AND SCOPE
MGBHLM First Nation is committed to approaching health and wellness initiatives proactively. The Water Technician will be working under the supervision of the Director of Health and will be responsible for providing environmental health technical services under the direction of an Environmental Health Officer.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts sampling and other data collection activities associated with field inspection work, including monitoring and providing follow up on sampling schedules, and reviewing reports submitted by communities;
Performs first level screening of monitoring reports submitted by communities by cross-referencing information to confirm accuracy and ensuring all report fields are completed;
Participates in community training sessions and provides on site orientation to community members;
Administers the technical equipment and supply inventory, and calibrates, cleans and/or sterilizes, and makes straight-forward repairs to testing, monitoring, and surveillance equipment;
Serves as a member of an assigned team in the event of a communicable disease outbreak or other environmental health emergency;
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Data gathering and entry for the Health Department;
Assist with audit tests, annual audit preparations and verifications;
Develop a working and professional relationship with all employees including Chief & Council, community members and suppliers;
