Description

The RM of Britannia is currently accepting resumes for seasonal Equipment Operator-1. This position is for the upcoming road maintenance and construction season and runs from April to October 2024.

Primary Duties:
1. Operating any equipment within the capacity of their driver's license such as a half-ton truck, tractor, tandem truck, dump truck, mulcher, packer, rock picker, steamer, oil distributor, crack sealer, roller, and post pounder in a careful and efficient manner.
2. Assist in the servicing and maintenance of vehicles and equipment and complete service logs.  
3. Ensure all standards of Workplace Safety and Health are followed.
4. May perform the duties of Labourer position if required.
5. Complete records relative to the equipment used and work performed.
6. Participate in all safety training, orientations, meetings and ongoing training.
7. Clean and maintain shop and yard as required.
8. Clean and safely store equipment as required.
9. Keeps up-to-date accurate records of all work performed.
10. Work in compliance with the provisions of all provincial regulations and RM policies.
11. Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Experience/Qualifications:
1. Demonstrated proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
2. High skill level in the operation of equipment gained through a minimum of two (2) years of similar experience.
3. The incumbent must also demonstrate their ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
4. Previous training or completion of Occupational Health and Safety related courses and knowledge of the municipality would be considered an asset.
5. Must have a valid Saskatchewan driver's license Class 5 or equivalent and provide a Criminal Record Check.
