Typically, the knowledge, skills and experience required to be successful in this position would have been obtained through:

- Education in law, criminal justice, criminology, or other related fields.
- Experience conducting investigations, adhering to the principles of procedural fairness, managing appeals or escalated complaints and judicial reviews.
- Proven experience as a senior leader.
