Description

The Ministry of Finance is responsible for the integrity of the provincial budget development process, and manages the governments banking, investment and public debt functions.

The Ministry of Finance is seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented leader to join the Economic and Fiscal Planning Branch as the Director of Fiscal Planning. If you are an experienced accounting or financial management professional looking for a unique and exciting role, where you will play a key part in the government decision making for the public service, then this is the opportunity for you.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Economic and Fiscal Planning, you will provide leadership and direction on all matters involving the provinces fiscal outlook.

You are a proactive, innovative leader who is able to effectively develop a high performing team in an inclusive and collaborative environment. You are passionate about fiscal policy, planning and solving complex public policy problems. In addition, you will have:

- A masters degree with an emphasis on finance, accounting, economics, or public policy; a professional designation in accounting or financial management would be an asset, and an undergraduate degree in similar fields of study may also be considered accompanied with significant work experience;
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing a team, with the application of an inclusive and supportive mindset in order to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual objectives;
Strong proficiency in financial and accounting concepts, and government budgeting processes and practices;
- Extensive knowledge of Saskatchewans revenue base and expenditure base at both the elemental and macro levels;
- A robust understanding of the current issues facing provincial and national public finance; and more!
