Job Description: The Nurse Practitioner working in the Emergency Room is an advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with their legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures in the management and treatment of common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions. The RN(NP) practices within a framework of evidence-based interventions, holism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. The practice involves working within the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) nursing program objectives, guidelines, and policies and procedures and building partnerships that support inter-professional collaboration.
Required Qualifications

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS)
Level C - Basic Cardiac Life Support
Masters Degree in Nursing
Must be registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)and licensed as RN(NP)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Trauma nursing core course (TNCC) is preferred
Valid Class 5 driver's license
