Facility: MENTAL HEALTH OUTPATIENT
Job Description: The Mental Health nurse is a member of a multidisciplinary team providing care to individuals coping with mental illness and/or addiction related issues. The incumbent will have:

Compressive knowledge of mental health conditions, concurrent disorders, psychotropic medications, their uses, side effects and ability to provide patient education with a nursing lens.
Knowledge and application of treatment modalities: Mental Health Recovery Oriented treatments, CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing.
Case management experience in an interdisciplinary setting to support recovery and independence to meet client care needs in the community.
Comprehensive knowledge of the Mental Health Act
Maintains competency and standards of nursing practice through in-service and other educational means.
Demonstrated problem solving and decision making abilities.
Proven ability to apply research to practice.
Proven ability to work independently and to make independent decisions and judgments.
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work with multiple computer applications.
Excellent organizational skills including the ability to maintain priorities in managing multiple and diverse demands.
Excellent communication skills  both written and oral. Ability to prepare reports in a clear and concise manner.
Excellent interpersonal competence including effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent consultation and public relation skills with the ability to work effectively with other community based organizations, families and supports.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saska
