Description

The Salvation Army, William Booth Special Care Home (WBSCH) is a leader in innovative programs designed to meet the needs of residents in Long Term Care (53 beds), Hospice Care (10 beds), Convalescent Care (18 beds), and Adult Day Support Program. WBSCH is seeking a Care Manager to join our team.  

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Care Manager is directly accountable for day-to-day functions of the Hospice and Convalescent program and secondary support to LTC and Day Program, as needed.  The Manager will assist in ensuring quality care is delivered to all four unique programs and will uphold the Salvation Army WBSCH Philosophy of Care.  Other duties may include but are not limited to, providing supervision to the Resident Care Coordinator. The Manager will be required to assist in Human Resource/Labor Relations as directed by the Director of Care. Management of the physical and financial resources within the assigned healthcare department, in accordance with the Salvation Army /Regina Wascana Grace Hospice mission and values.

Requirements:
-Registered with the SRNA or RPNAS; a degree is preferred
-3 years experience related to Long Term Care/Continuing Care
-2 years minimum, in a supervisory/management role
-Human Resource experience & knowledge of the CUPE CBA is an asset

-Demonstrates excellent verbal/written communication skills
-Is self-directed & motivated; able to multi-task & meet deadlines as required on a consistent basis & work under pressure
-Strong leadership & interpersonal skills
-Knowledge of OH&S standards & application
-Strong knowledge of Infection Prevention & Control regulations
-Ability to accept & implement change; commitment to continuing professional development
-Demonstrates professionalism & ability to work co-operatively with other health care providers, inside & outside the Home & with community agencies and unions
