We are looking for an onsite or you can work from home Bookkeeper, that can work in a contract position. If you work from home you must live in Moose Jaw area and come to the office once a week to pick up documents.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Proven experience in bookkeeping preferably in a non-profit setting with a min. of at least 5 years experience.
Successfully completed program in Bookkeeping
Strong knowledge of accounting principles including:
Proficiency in accounting software (eg. Quickbooks, Sage), computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, spreadsheet software, and various database.
You have the ability to set up our paper system into online for record keeping
Administration skills
General office equipment knowledge and experience.
You MUST have the ability to take a shoe box full of past receipts and reconcile the accounts. Including all bank records, invoices, and grant final report requirements and work under fast paced deadlines.
We need someone to start immediate and work in March will include past reconciliation of chart of accounts which will be about 20 hours a week. Starting in April will be about 3 hours a month.
Professional Accounting Designation or Diploma or degree in accounting
Self-motivated and accountable
Records income and expenses transactions, processing payments, conducts banking activities, produces various financial reports and regulatory filings, and prepares account reconciliations
Bank and credit card reconciliations
Prepares monthly and annual financial reports
Prepares year end file for our accountant
Assists in cashflow management as required
Other duties related to finances as required
