Living Skies Housing Authority's Housing Technical Operations (HTO) provides property, program, technical and operational services to the provincial housing network.  HTO is recruiting a Mechanical Systems Specialist based in the Yorkton/Melville area. Mechanical Systems Specialists work to prolong Saskatchewan Housing Corporations mechanical system assets through effective preventative maintenance planning and procedures.

THE POSITION WILL:
Monitor mechanical operations procedures and processes across the housing network through regular inspections and troubleshooting.
Provide input into operations/preventative maintenance plans to HVAC systems.
Provide training and support to local housing groups on mechanical operations procedures and processes.
Maintain and develop emergency practices and procedures.
Coordinate major mechanical system renovations and repairs to maximize operating efficiency and cost effectiveness from overseeing the design and implementation through to commissioning final project.

YOU WILL BRING:
Proven experience in developing design drawings/specifications and scopes of work.
Ability to communicate effectively with mechanical engineers and contractors.
Proven ability to perform various emergency and non-emergency repairs of mechanical systems.
Ability to prepare budgets, financial estimates and operational reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Journeyman license related to HVAC trade OR demonstrated experience with mechanical design, controls and HVAC operations.
A minimum of ten (10) years related experience including commissioning and retrocommissioning and operation of HVAC systems.   Post secondary in a technical or trade school (electrical, electronics, mechanical, plumbing, gas fitting, pneumatics) is an asset as are classes in Power Engineering and Refrigeration.

A valid Class 5 Drivers license is required for frequent travel and overnight stays.
