Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yorkton and Area is a dynamic and impactful charitable nonprofit dedicated to providing mentoring programs that ignite and empower young people. Committing to making a difference in our community, we seek a passionate and experienced Fund Development Specialist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
As a Fund Development Specialist, you will:
Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the organization's mission.
Cultivate and nurture relationships with individual donors, corporations, foundations, and other potential funding sources.
Write compelling grant proposals and applications to secure funding from various entities.
Plan and execute successful fundraising events, including galas, auctions, and community outreach initiatives.
Manage donor databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create impactful materials that effectively communicate the organization's impact and fundraising needs.
Oversee major gifts and planned giving programs, tailoring strategies to individual donors.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Proven experience in fund development and fundraising within the nonprofit sector.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a knack for storytelling.
Knowledge of grant writing and the ability to secure funding through various channels.
Experience in planning and executing successful fundraising events.
Proficiency in donor management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
