we are seeking a highly capable long haul truck driver to join our company!
Truck Driver Duties and Responsibilities
1.Safely operate and drive trucks to transport goods and materials to and from designated locations.
2.Inspect trucks and trailers before and after trips, and report any defects or issues to the maintenance department.
3.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of truck operations, including trip logs, fuel purchases, and vehicle maintenance.
4.Adhere to all traffic and safety regulations while driving, including weight limits, size restrictions, and speed limits.
5.Load and unload goods and materials using mechanical or manual equipment, following proper handling and safety procedures.
6.Keep truck and equipment clean and in good working condition, performing regular maintenance and minor repairs as needed;
7.Assist with the securing and unloading of goods, ensuring that they are properly handled and stored;
8.Provide excellent customer service by delivering goods in a timely and professional manner, and by addressing any customer concerns or inquiries.
9.Follow company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, and compliance with regulations.
10.Travel within Canada with some routes into US.
11.Keep record and maintain required documentation, including driver logbook, bills of landing, etc. by manual or electronic means.
Employment requirements;
Completion of secondary school is usually required.
On-the-job-training is provided.
Completion of an accredited driver training course of up to three months duration, through a vocational school, may be required.
A Class 3 or D license is required to drive straight-body trucks.
A Class 1 or A license is required to drive long combination vehicles.
Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
Ability to work night shifts
