As a Vietnamese Cuisine Kitchen Helper, your primary responsibility will be to assist the kitchen staff in preparing and cooking Vietnamese dishes in accordance with the restaurant's recipes and standards. You will work under the supervision of the head chef or kitchen manager to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of high-quality food to customers. Your duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients such as chopping vegetables, slicing meats, and preparing sauces and marinades according to recipes.
Cooking: Assist in cooking various Vietnamese dishes including pho, banh mi, spring rolls, stir-fries, and other traditional dishes. Follow recipes and cooking techniques accurately to maintain consistency in taste and quality.
Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including cleaning equipment, utensils, and workstations. Adhere to sanitation and safety standards to ensure a hygienic working environment.
Stock Management: Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and notifying the chef or manager when supplies need to be replenished. Properly store and rotate food items to minimize waste.
Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff members to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service during busy periods. Communicate effectively with chefs and cooks to assist in executing orders efficiently.
Quality Control: Participate in quality control procedures to ensure that all dishes meet the restaurant's standards for taste, presentation, and portion size. Report any issues or concerns to the chef or supervisor promptly.
Customer Service: Occasionally interact with customers to take food orders, answer questions about the menu, and provide recommendations on Vietnamese dishes. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while representing the restaurant.
