Description

We are a company in the construction industry that has served Saskatoon and surrounding areas for decades. We are currently seeking a full time bookkeeper. The ideal candidate is someone who has a minimum of five years bookkeeping experience, ideally in the construction industry. The successful candidate must possess strong computer skills, be proficient with Sage Accounting software and be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

The position is a permanent full time position Monday - Friday, with the potential for having to work extended hours at certain busier times of the year. You must be able to work in Canada in order to be considered for the position.

Skills and Tasks Required:

Keep financial records and maintain using Sage Accounting Software
Calculate and prepare payroll transactions
Maintain general ledger and financial statements
Post all required journal entries
Prepare reports as required by management including statistical, financial and accounting reports
Make all government remittances including GST, PST, payroll and corporate tax remittances
Prepare ROEs and various other government forms.
Reconcile accounts
Keep records in an organized fashion
Full cycle accounting and preparing records for year end done by external accountants.
Understanding typical construction contracts and invoices is a definite asset.
The ability to adapt to things at a fast pace, particularly at payroll and invoicing preparation times is a necessity.
The position also requires some office administration duties such as answering phones and greeting foot traffic to the office.
Any other duties as required by management
The ability to work independently is very important and to be able to complete tasks within tight deadlines when necessary
