Job Summary:

The Manager, Actuarial Services is responsible for operational leadership of the Actuarial Services team. The Actuarial Services team is responsible for extracting and analysing data, developing assumptions and scenarios, developing and maintaining models, and providing advice and recommendations to decision makers and stakeholders. This position will plan, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate activities of staff.

The individual will combine strong technical actuarial skills and exceptional problem-solving ability with a collaborative and growth-oriented leadership style. Understanding the perspective of stakeholders and internal customers is essential, as is the ability to innovatively apply actuarial skills and knowledge to deliver insights and improvements.

This position reports to the Director, Actuarial Services, and is an integral member of the leadership team of both the Finance and Corporate Services division and the WCB as a whole.
  

Qualifications:

A University Degree in actuarial science, mathematics/statistics or a similar quantitative discipline supplemented with a minimum of five (5) years of actuarial work experience;
Attainment of a fellowship level designation in a recognized North American actuarial organization (e.g. Casualty Actuarial Society, Society of Actuaries, or Canadian Institute of Actuaries). Equivalent designations from international actuarial organizations may also be considered.
A minimum of one (1) year managing a team of actuarial professionals.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge, skill, and competence, may be considered.
