Description

The Northeast Regional Housing Authority (NERHA), located in Creighton, also serves the surrounding communities of Denare Beach, Pelican Narrows and Sandy Bay.  NERHA provides affordable housing to low-income seniors, families, and others who could not otherwise access safe, secure housing.  We have an opportunity for a full-time permanent Administrative Assistant in Creighton to join our team.  If you have proven problem-solving skills, work well in a team environment, and have a desire to provide exceptional service to tenants in the community, we'd love to hear from you!

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of professionalism and communication skills in providing both clerical and administrative support. The successful candidate will provide clerical and administrative support, respond to all walk-in clients, contractors, and tenant inquiries, answer/direct incoming calls, and prepare maintenance work orders, tenant packages, correspondence, and reports.

The Administrative Assistant represents the Housing Authority and will act with diplomacy and respect for confidentiality while recognizing people's diversity and individual differences. This position requires exceptional client relations skills working with seniors, families and individuals, and the ability to manage conflict and stressful situations.

A Grade 12 education supplemented with some post-secondary education in human services, business administration or a similar field are considered an asset.  You will also have knowledge and hands-on experience with the Microsoft Office Suite of programs and JD Edwards.  The ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public, maintain confidentiality, and establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, Board members, tenants and others is key to success in this role.

A valid driver's license, reliable, roadworthy vehicle and an approved Vulnerable Sector Check are conditions of employment.
