The Role
Reporting to the Batch Plant Services Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible to operate the batch plant and waste management equipment in a safe and efficient manner. You will also be responsible for operating a variety of mobile equipment to maintain the site, roads, and airport in a safe and effective manner.  You will demonstrate safety leadership and comply with company safety policies, complete daily circle checks and preventative maintenance on equipment, and ensure proper daily machine startup, operation, and shutdown procedures.  As an experienced operator, you will assist in training and monitoring junior operators and provide support to other trades on site.

Required:
-Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
-At least five (5) years of progressive experience in heavy industry or industrial environment
-Must have experience with concrete batch plant (batching concrete) and associated equipment
-Experience on dozer, grader, 966 and 988 loaders, track hoe, scraper and 50-ton rock truck
-Mechanically inclined (knowledge of equipment and hand tools)
-SAT equipment training modules
-Valid Class 2 drivers licence
-Willingness to perform manual labour as required
-Safety-oriented team player with excellent communication and organizational skills
-Must be proficient with using computers, including the Microsoft Office suite
-Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft

Recommended:
-Valid Class 1A drivers licence
-Previous lead hand or supervisory experience
-ACI (American Concrete Institute) Certification
-Previous experience with SAP
