Job description
Sask Asphalt Maintenance Ltd is Looking for an experienced seasonal lead hand for the 2024 season. Lead Hand is a Laborer & Supervisor position that reports to the Foreman. Work consists of Pothole repair, Line Painting, Rubberized Crack Filling and Slurry Sealing.
Lead Hand is responsible for managing the crew, communicating with employees, overseeing day to day operations, assisting with traffic control and maintaining safety program/ documentation. As well as but are not limited to shoveling, sweeping, raking, lifting over 80lbs, operating small machinery, repairing machinery, , walking 10+ Kms a day and working outside in the elements.
This is not a Equipment operator job, manual labor only.
Work days are Monday to Friday with some overnight out of town work. '
Accommodations provided when out of town as well as a per diem.
Approx. 50 hours per week average.
Season is Generally from late April to Early October
**** Up to $2 per hour worked year end bonus for successful candidate.***
The following are required to qualify for position.
-Steel toed boots
-Class 5 License required with Clean Drivers Abstract
- Asphalt paving, Asphalt Maintenance experience or 5 years general labour with management experience
- Valid First Aid Cert
- Traffic Control Knowledge
- Knowledge of Safety Programs
- Experience Driving vehicles with trailers
- High Mechanical Aptitude
- Experience managing employees
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Salary: $29.00-$33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 60 per week
