Description

The YMCA of Regina is an accredited non-profit charity that is open to all, dedicated to building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. As the premiere values-based builder of health, leadership, and personal development, we focus our program delivery on our three pillars of service: health and fitness, community development, and childcare.

The Director of Fitness is responsible for all fitness and training activities including the oversight of up to 4 personal trainers and an extensive group of fitness volunteers. This full-time opportunity (minimum 30 hours per week) would be ideal for an enthusiastic leader to continue growing our fitness department. This position will also allow for a creative spirit to initiate new classes and inspire staff to improve the Community at the YMCA.

Responsibilities:
* Increase member involvement with the YMCA through fitness programs with a focus on Physical Literacy
* Deliver bi-annual Fitness Volunteer certifications
* Engage with and support 50+ Fitness Volunteers in scheduling and ensuring certifications are current
* Ensure conditioning centre are well maintained (ability to lift & carry up to 45 lbs)
* Supervise and provide leadership to personal trainers including recruitment, training, and coaching and performance management
* Schedule and deliver Continuing Education opportunities for Personal Trainers and Fitness Volunteers
* Provide association wide leadership in fitness related initiatives
* Train Personal Training clients as required (ability to spot clients lifting weights)
* Ability to lead a 1-hour moderate to high intensity fitness class
* Manage the Fitness budget

Requirements:
* Post-secondary degree in Kinesiology or equivalent
* First Aid and CPR-C current certifications
* Certified as, and experience with Personal Training
* Group fitness certification an asset
* Criminal Record Check prior to first day of work and dated no more than 3 months before hire date
