Description

Aegis Holistic Renewal is looking for individuals to join our team at front desk. We are offering 1 Full-time evening position and several causal positions.  The Front Desk Wellness Worker assumes a pivotal position in offering aid, assistance, and care to individuals facing homelessness or crises, serving as an indispensable team member dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations. Ensuring a favorable experience for visitors, clients, and staff is a primary responsibility, necessitating a consistently friendly, professional, and attentive demeanor. Moreover, this role requires empathy, resilience, and a dedication to fostering positive community transformation. Duties include cultivating rapport with clients across different programs and promptly addressing their pressing needs. Your compassionate disposition will be instrumental in fostering a secure and hospitable atmosphere for those in need of assistance.
REQUIREMENTS
*Training in Human Services or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
*Demonstrated compassion and empathy towards clients with addictions, mental illness, physical disabilities, behavioural issues, and/or medical issues including possible infectious diseases.
*A broad knowledge of and experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset.
*Cultural sensitivity and respect for client individuality and self-determination.
*Knowledge/understanding of poverty, homelessness, oppression, addiction, and mental illness.
*Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to staff and client privacy.
*Demonstrated ability to work in a collegial, team environment.
*Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
*Proven critical thinking and decision-making skills.
*Ability to resolve conflict.
*An understanding of, and commitment to, the philosophies of the organization
*First Aid and CPR Certification.
*Knowledge of overdose response.
*Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Clearance.
