Role and Responsibilities

An established service and safety company in SW Sask is looking to fill safety technician positions.  The position of a safety technician is to supervise projects in the oilfield to ensure the safety of the workers and the protection of property.  You may be required to supervise at rig sites, plant maintenance shutdowns, as well as other oilfield related work.  Confined space entry, gas detection, and hazard assessments are part of the duties.  You may also be required to:
- Conduct pre-job safety meetings
- Provide safety supervision as per client requirements
- Correct hazardous situations or acts
- Complete equipment and site inspections
- Prepare safety units
- Assist with safety equipment servicing
- Assist with sales and office documentation
- Assist with safety courses
- Be part of a team safety group
- Some physical activity is required

Qualifications and Education Requirements
An ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years of experience in an oilfield environment however we are willing to train the right person.  Safety background in another industry is acceptable.  Experience in customer service would be an asset as would a post-secondary education.  A valid class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract is required.  Oilfield safety tickets for H2S Alive, First Aid and CPR are required but will assist in obtaining.
