Description

Living Skies Housing Authority provides support to the Saskatchewan Housing Authority Network. The Housing Technical Operations unit provides property, program, technical, and operational services within the provincial housing network.

Housing Technical Operations is currently hiring a regular, full-time Housing Inspector based in Regina. If you are interested and experienced in understanding structural, architectural, mechanical, and electric building systems, we would love to hear from you!

You will:
- conduct building inspections; identify hazardous substances and coordinate mitigation
- coordinate the building repair process and conduct building analysis
- use in-depth knowledge of legislation and regulations that pertain to building standards ensuring regulatory compliance of our housing authorities, and tenant health and safety
- participate in project cost administration, cost estimating, contract document preparation, specification compiling, and the tendering process
- remain current in new/emerging construction technologies, energy conservation, environmental programs, building codes and procedures related to housing

We are looking for:
- someone knowledgeable in property management practices and principles related to maintenance/modernization of facilities
- someone knowledgeable in building codes, product standards, specifications, residential, and commercial building practices and principles

You will need:
- Journeyperson or Red Seal cert. in a construction trade OR
- Architectural Technology or Civil Engineering Technology diploma
- several years of project management and building construction experience
- strong analytical skills relating to building sciences

Position is classified as a unionized SGEU field employee and is vacant.
Hours:  Unregulated within any working day, normal office operating hours are typically: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
