Description

The Provincial Capital Commission (PCC) provides enhanced visitor experiences and educational programming in Wascana Centre and at the Government House to inspire pride in Saskatchewans Capital City. The Provincial Capital Commission is currently seeking to add a highly motivated and energetic individual to our team. This position reports to our Forestry & Pest Control Supervisor and works in a team environment to assist forestry operations in Wascana Centre and the Government House.

As a Forester 1 you will:

- Perform tree pruning activities including identification of trees and knowledge of what to prune.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of trees (e.g. watering, staking, etc.).
- Follow maps and plans to plant trees accordingly.
- Prepare sites for landscaping and planting.
- Operate various equipment used in forestry operations.
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment.
- Perform physical labour outside in all kinds of weather in a safe manner.
- Courteously deal with members of the public.

Qualifications:
- Grade 12 education.
- A minimum one-year experience in forestry, arboriculture, landscaping, pest control, horticulture or other related fields.
- Interest in trees, shrubs, and landscape maintenance.
- Experience working in an urban forest environment is considered an asset.
- Possess a Class 5 driver's license.
- Have knowledge of safe work practices.
