Description

The Town of Aberdeen is currently accepting applications for the position of Chief Administrative Officer.

The CAO will be responsible for all operations in the town in accordance with the policies and bylaws established by the Council and the Municipalities Act

Responsibilities includes preparing and maintaining assessment and tax rolls, preparing and maintaining utility billing/accounts, tax enforcement, all and aspect of human resources including supervision, hiring and discipline staff, knowledge of all aspects of the Munisoft program, Municipal elections procedures and legislation, preparing and adhering to the annual budget and attending ot the day-to-day operations of the Town.

Qualifications
-Hold a minimum of a Standard ?Level c? Certificate in Local Government Administration, with a minimum of two years experience as a qualified Administrator.
-Proficiency in municipal accounting, municipal law, human resources, payroll, tax enforcement and asset management.
-Proficient with Munisoft Software including the General ledger, Tax Roll, Utility Roll, Pub Works, Receipting, Accounts Payable, Paymate, Bank Reconciliation Programs.
-Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
-The ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
-Ability to effectively handle correspondence, both written and verbally.
-Experience with Local Authority Freedom of Information and Privacy Legislation.
-Discreet with matters pertaining to confidentiality is a must.
-Ability to organize and prioritize work, and meet deadlines while maitainng a high degree of accuracy.
-Ability to interpret policies, bylaws, and legislation appropriately when responding to situations or requests.
-Deals with Regulatory Bodies. Must be bondable.
