Confined Space Attendant:
- Placed at the access point of a confined space, you will record everyone that goes in and out of the confined space while monitoring anyone that goes inside.
- Must maintain communication between yourself and the person(s) inside and when needed the plant emergency response team as well.
- All communications will be done via radio(s), and if there is an emergency outside the confined space notify the workers inside to exit safely. If there is an emergency inside the confined space contact the emergency response team.
Breathing Air Bottle Watch:
- If within the confined space workers need supplied air from a tank, there will be hoses from the tank to supply the worker with the air.
- Your job is to assist the workers in getting their gear on safely and correctly, then constantly watch the air tanks and warn the workers to exit the area if they start running low.
- This is in addition to the tasks mentioned above.
Other duties include:
- Monitoring the area for potential hazards in the workplace while work is being performed by other employees.
- Understanding the specific job operations and equipment
- Maintain conditions and requirements stated on the safety permit.
- Maintain constant means of communication with workers in the area and emergency responders.
- Maintain a constant presence on job site while work is being done.
- Follow company and client policies and procedures.
- Know the location of all safety equipment including fire extinguishers, first aid and eye wash stations, shower units, etc
NOTE: For safety reasons the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently is necessary.
