Description

Researcher/Analyst I  Social Development (Maternity Leave Coverage)

Research, develop and provide recommendations and/or study the feasibility of a First Nation projects or issues. Provide research, technical or analytical information on the basis of assigned projects. Provides written documentation for briefings, updates, strategic planning, or media releases.

Research and Analysis
Identify, research, and provide analysis, for consideration, on new and/or revisions to current legislation and policies that relate to the promotion, enhancement and implementation of the Treaty Rights or related department initiatives.
Identify, research, and provide analysis on resource materials related to social development including income assistance, homelessness, disabilities, and First Nation social safety net.
Reviewing, compiling, and interpreting statistical data analysis.
Reviewing primary and secondary data sources.
Gap analysis.
Provide advice, information and assistance on issues and initiatives (First Nations, federal and provincial) related to social development and child welfare including the development of resource materials.
Research and compile archival/other documents.
Provide research advice on proposals, participate on team projects where monitoring of research may be required.

Communications
Prepare briefing notes, updates, media releases and other communications materials relate to social development.
Maintain effective liaison and communication with First Nations, FSIN working partners, and working groups/committees.
