Description

A temporary Library Clerk 1 is required for the Moose Jaw Public Library 16 hours biweekly.  This position could involve shift work, including evenings, Saturdays and Sundays on a call-in basis.

DUTIES INCLUDE:    This position involves a complete range of paging duties like shelving library materials, shelf reading, checking materials in and out when necessary, maintaining a neat and orderly library environment and picking up mail. Duties involve physical requirements like frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting library materials; and pushing and pulling library carts and circulation duties including check-out/check-in of library materials, registering borrowers; processing holds; collecting fines; contacting borrowers regarding overdues and holds; answering or directing inquiries from the public and other clerical duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:    Grade 12; strong keyboarding skills; comfortable working in a Windows environment; good clerical skills; good oral and written communications skills; ability to work cooperatively with other staff; ability to meet the public with friendliness, courtesy and tact; previous library experience an asset.

SALARY RANGE:$16.13-$17.26 per hour(2024 rates)
