Description

Platform Leads serve as the business and technical heads of the engineering platforms.  Through the successful management of a group of engineers, technologists and designers, the platform leads will deliver high quality designs within budget and schedule.  This is a leadership position that involves management, design, project planning, estimating; a certain level of customer relations and interfacing with the rest of the company.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct the telematics portion of product design and development at initial design phase including:
- Design concept
- Regulatory compliance
- Testing methodology.
- Direct and guide standardized approach to Design of assigned new products focusing on Performance of product, Design for Manufacturability, Serviceability, Reliability, Affordability, etc.
- Work within design teams on assigned products from concept through prototype testing to ensure design meets scope and development targets.
- Ensure appropriate and disciplined approach to design activity is followed.
- Field research as required.  Business travel will be an occasional requirement.
- Teach and mentor design engineers and technologists and recommend skills training and process improvement where necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
