Description

POSTION SUMMARY:  
The Human Resource Coordinator will work directly with the VP, Finance & Operations to support the HR function at the YWCA Saskatoon. The HR Coordinator will work independently and proactively to assist in the planning and implementation of special projects related to human resources and administration. Along with the ability to maintain a positive attitude through change and multiple priorities, the HR Coordinator will develop excellent organizational, communication, data and administrative skills through a variety of tasks. This individual will gain great experience and insight into the day to day operations of a non-profit.

HOURS OF WORK:  30 hours per week

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:  
-Identifies and recommends ways to improve HR processes and ensure integrity of information, programs, policies, and procedures.
-Assist with the development and roll-out of various HR initiatives and programs aimed at employee retention, training and development, and diversity and inclusion
-Assist with the identification, selection, and interviewing of candidates
-Assist with pre-boarding and onboarding of employees
-Assist with revamp of onboarding process
-Assist with the set-up and organization of special projects related to the Finance and HR functions
-Maintain and update employee records
-Assist with employee benefit and pension plans
-Support the VP in educating employees and upholding company policies
-Build relationships with staff across the organization.
-Obtain an overall knowledge of department and community needs.
-Work as part of a collaborative team.
-Maintains the strictest confidentiality on matters pertaining to employee file management

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be under the age of 30 as position is part of the Canada Summer Jobs Grant. The ideal candidate will have a background in business with a focus in Human Resources. Preference to candidates pursuing a Business Degree, Diploma or Certificate.
