Description

MJMC is seeking an enthusiastic client centred Case Manager/Settlement Worker to join our team.
Settlement Workers provide guidance to Newcomers to Canada by assessing their needs, developing settlement plans, and making referrals that will ultimately assist in reaching the settlement and integration goals as set out by the client. Case Managers work with clients who have complex cases and need assistance in tracking and supporting their settlement journey to ensure they have their essential needs met.

The ideal candidate would demonstrate the following:
-Post-secondary degree in Human/Social Services or an equivalent combination of education and experience
-Understanding and sensitivity to issues affecting immigrant and refugee communities
-Ability to work effectively with other service providers and community partners
-Amazing communication skills: written, verbal, and non-verbal
-Demonstrated cross cultural communication skills and knowledge of community resources
-Comfortable with database, word processing, use internet, email, and other common computer applications
-Well-developed interview, analytical, and problem-solving skills
-Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
-Ability to keep accurate records and carry out duties with a degree of independence
-Fluency in additional languages a significant asset especially in Kinyarwanda, Swahili, Somali, French, and Ukrainian
-Willing to work on evenings/weekends and travel if needed
-Legal entitlement to work in Canada
-Mandatory Class 5 license with no restrictions
