Description

Specific Responsibilities

1.Work with the CMHA Saskatoon team to support individuals with mental health needs to develop individualized employment plans.
2.Identify and recruit potential employers, develop strategies to increase employment opportunities and maintain positive relationships with prospective and existing employers.
3.Support employers to accommodate individuals with mental health needs in their workplaces.
4.Mediate employer and employee issues that arise.
5.Support job seekers to identify areas for further training and skill development.
6.Support individuals with resume development, interview skills and job applications both in person and online.
7.Negotiate job placements and wage subsidy agreements with employers.
8.Work collaboratively with community stakeholders and agencies for information sharing and referrals.
9.Ensure current client information is maintained in the online data base.
10.Connect employers with education and training opportunities that will assist them in establishing psychologically and physically safe workplaces.

Qualifications

University degree or the equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience working with people with mental illness and/or substance use needs, with experience in the vocational area an asset.
Holistic understanding and belief in the full citizenship and the fundamental human rights of people with mental health needs.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills and the ability to create and maintain collaborative relationships.
Experience working with community agencies and programs.
Experience working with employers and a holistic understanding of their needs and goals.
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
