Requires a qualified and versatile individual to fill the position of Baker-Kitchen Helper. This role combines the responsibilities of a Baker and a Kitchen Helper, ensuring our bakery's smooth and efficient operation. The position holder will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and organized workspace while contributing to the overall success of our baking operations. The position holder need to work on early shifts and weekends.
Responsibilities:
Kitchen Helper Duties:
Wash worktables, cupboards, and appliances to maintain a hygienic, organized kitchen space.
Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers regularly.
Unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, cupboards, and other designated storage areas.
Sweep and mop floors regularly to uphold cleanliness standards in the bakery.
Ensure overall cleanliness of the bakery, including display areas and customer-facing sections.
Adhere to occupational health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Baking Duties:
Prepare and bake a variety of bakery goods in accordance with established recipes and quality standards. Especially prepare Iraqi, Jordanian and Persian breads.
Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure the proper cooking of products.
Decorate and finish baked goods with precision and attention to detail.
Maintain an inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed.
Adhere to Saskatoon Health Region food safety requirements to ensure the production of safe and high-quality baked goods.
Training and Compliance:
Train new bakery staff on baking techniques, hygiene practices, and safety procedures.
Ensure all bakery staff members comply with Saskatoon Health Region food safety requirements.
Monitor and enforce compliance with occupational health and safety regulations to minimize workplace risks.
