Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will assist in the planning and implementation of marketing and communication projects and events related to the Broadway Business Improvement District.
Term:
6 hours per day, Monday - Friday (30 hours/week)
9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
May - August (Some Sept. dates - TBD)
Wage:
$20 / Hour
Responsibilities:
Assisting with the planning, marketing, and delivery of major community-based events in the Broadway District. This includes the Spring Fling June 1, Broadway Street Fair Sept. 7, Walk of Stars presentations etc.
The successful candidate will contribute to the overall development of this vibrant business and entertainment district working with a small team of passionate and creative staff and volunteers at the BBID.
Writing and designing communications materials including but not limited to posters, social media posts, emails, sponsorship packages, newsletters, website updates and other marketing content and materials as required.
General administrative duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
Be knowledgeable (or willing to learn) about the Broadway area.
Able to provide exceptional service with a pro-active, positive, can-do attitude.
Strong communication skills (written, visual and verbal).
Experience using Google office tools (mail, forms, etc.), DropBox, Canva, WordPress, MailChimp, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter would be an asset.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Current enrollment in a certified business or marketing program would be an asset.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Must be available some evenings and weekends.
Must be under the age of 30 as position is part of the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.
