Description

The Provincial Capital Commission (PCC) provides enhanced visitor experiences and educational programming in Wascana Centre and at the Government House to inspire pride in Saskatchewans Capital City. The Provincial Capital Commission is currently seeking to add highly motivated and energetic students to our team. This position reports to our Horticulture Supervisor and works in a team environment to assist horticulture operations in Wascana Centre and the Government House.

As a Horticulturist 1, you will:

- Care for and maintain a wide variety of plants and flowers.
- Perform physical labour outside in all kinds of weather in a safe manner.
- Courteously deal with members of the public.
- Perform greenhouse maintenance and minor repairs.

You will need the ability to:

- Understand and follow verbal and written communication.
- Use and operate required tools and equipment competently and safely.
- Develop and maintain positive work relationships with co-workers, managers, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to listen, accurately comprehend and appropriately apply instructions to work assignments.
- Offering to help others by giving suggestions, providing information or emotional support, or performing work.

Qualifications:

- Interest in landscape plant care, maintenance, and propagation.
- Experience working in a greenhouse or nursery setting is considered an asset.
- Possess a Class 5 driver's license.
