The Ministry of Highways is seeking a highly motivated Traffic Guidance Engineering Assistant within the Provincial Operational Services Branch. This position is a permanent full-time position. Reporting to the Traffic Guidance Manager, you will provide technical support and leadership to the pavement marking and sign installation crews. A key responsibility for this position is the protection of employee and traffic safety through accurate data management. This position will be headquartered out of Yorkton.
In this position, you will:
- Organize and conduct desktop and field surveys in order to direct the installation of signs and pavement markings;
- Manage communication-related to third-party surveying of underground utilities at sign installation work sites;
- Capture, enter, update, import, and export data into several databases;
- Export data and reports from several databases;
- Monitor, measure, inspect and control the performance of contractors in the case of private delivery of sign installation;
- Protect employees and traffic safety through accurate data management; and
- Possess a Class 5 Drivers license.
Typically, the competencies required for this position would be obtained through a Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma, a Geomatics Engineering Diploma, an Engineering Degree, or a combination of education and several years of experience.
