Brief Overview:
Under the direction of the Director of Mental Health and Addictions the Cultural Connections Coordinator, will provide communications, collaboration and planning to support citizens of Metis Nation. In this role you will work to enhance the well-being, safety, and development of children and families in the Mtis Nation community. You will be responsible for delivery of cultural resources with the goal of fostering a strong sense of well-being and positive Metis identity. You will provide and facilitate access to traditional teachings and ceremonies in a safe and acceptable environment. This position requires a unique blend of expertise in traditional knowledge, mental health, project development and implementation, as well as strong written and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Foster positive relationship with community members, leaders, and Elders, respecting and incorporating cultural practices and traditions.
Collaborate with other departments within the Mtis Nation Saskatchewan departments.
Implement mental health supports and land-based programs.
Create and maintain a resource list of Cultural Wellness supports to aid in addressing gaps and mental health services.
