Description

Orano Canada is a leading producer of uranium in Canada, working to power the future with clean energy! Our McClean Lake mill is the most technologically-advanced mill in the world for the processing of high-grade uranium ore without dilution. Our aim is to better define known deposits and discover new ones that will make it possible to supply our McClean Lake Mill for years to come. In this role, you will have the opportunity to take on a variety of interesting projects.

Responsibilities:
-Supervises and manages exploration projects
-Participates in the conception and development of exploration programs and budgets (P&B)
-Ensures that:
o    Contracts are properly tendered
o    Permits and/or work authorizations have been received and distributed
o    Acts as Contract Administrator, as required
-Exploration program responsibilities include:
o    Supervises geologists, contract geologists, students and technicians; organizes, distributes and prioritizes tasks
o    Collects and interprets field and research data: to produce maps, sections, tables, etc.
o    Ensures work completed meets the terms of contract agreements and performs audits of contractor invoices
-Responsible for maintaining positive relationships with communities

Skills and Qualifications:
-Degree in geology combined with a minimum of 5 years mineral exploration experience (uranium preferred)
-Registered as a Professional Geoscientist or Engineer with APEGS
-Must have experience in exploration project management involving diamond drill contractors
-Demonstrated background in computing geological and geochemical data and structural geology
-Prepared to work in difficult and isolated conditions
-Must be fit (physically and mentally) to work in remote locations with challenging terrain

Work Location & Schedule:
-Saskatoon Office
-Several weeks or months in exploration camps and mine sites, with a significant component during the winter months
