Description

Competencies

(1)     Grade 12 or Grade 12 equivalent and fully competent in the use of the English language.  Any post-secondary education will be considered an asset.  
(2)     Must be able to successfully complete the Alternative Response Officer selection process, including the Peace officers Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) in a time of 4:45 minutes or better.
(3)     Must be able to successfully complete the Province of Saskatchewan Community Safety Officer training program or equivalent.
(4)     Must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
(5)     Ability to understand and apply multiple provincial statutes including, but not limited to the Traffic Safety Act and The Mental Health Services Act, Regina Bylaw, AGRA, Trespass Act, Cannabis sec 495 c.c.c.
(6)     Adaptability: Adjusts own behaviour and approaches in light of new information, and changing situations. Recognizes the need to adapt to change.
(7)     Ability to contribute positively in a teamwork environment.
(8)     Displays self  motivation and the ability to take initiative.
(9)     Stress tolerance: Remains focused and professional during prolonged, distracting and stressful situations.
(10)   Proficient use of computers, particularly Windows based platforms; Ability to learn and operate IEIS and CJIMS systems.
(11)   Must possess a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License, free of Novice restrictions, and provide a current drivers abstract.
(12)   Must be willing to work rotating shifts (12 hour).
(13)   No criminal charges pending before the courts.
(14)   No criminal convictions for which a Record Suspension/Pardon has not been granted.  A copy of the Record/Pardon is required.
