Description

The Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council is hiring one casual staffer to be part of the Saskatoon Waste Education Team as the Waste Wizard mascot. This individual will carry out promotional activities on behalf of the City of Saskatoons waste diversion programs.

Duties will include:
Receive training and practice in May to become comfortable in mascot outfit,
Become the Waste Wizard by wearing the mascot outfit at assigned Saskatoon community events (mostly outdoors), from June to August (up to 20 days), alongside the Waste Reduction Wagon team.
Provide support to Waste Reduction Wagon team as required.

Qualifications
Must be at least 5 feet 8 inches (173cm) tall to wear the mascot outfit
comfortable with small or confined spaces
possess strong non-verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey emotions and enthusiasm only through physical gestures
comfortable working with children
ability to work as part of a team
previous public engagement experience considered an asset

**The work schedule requires a lot of flexibility, including evening and weekend work.**

Work term: May  August, includes training
Shift duration: up to 4 hours, including a minimum of 2 half hour appearances per shift
Wage: $18/hour
