Applications are invited for a continuing 0.50 FTE Wellness Promoter commencing the start of the 2024-25 school year.  

Job Purpose:  The Wellness Promoter is responsible for delivering mental health and addictions programming in select schools to support healthy children and youth. This position works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to enhance capacity to meet the objectives by developing and delivering developmentally appropriate programming to children, youth and families within school settings. The Wellness Promoter will provide classroom instruction for Mental Health and Wellness courses within the high schools as well as promote health and wellness outcomes at all grade levels.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    Excellent working knowledge of client centered mental health and addictions interventions, practice methods and professional skills.
    Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with a wide range of client groups.
    Comfort with delivering both elementary and high school course content.
    Demonstrated ability to deliver culturally responsive services to a diverse group of clients.
    Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    Excellent problem-solving skills utilizing strengths-based practices and solution focused interactions.
    Strong communication and reporting skills, both verbally in in written form.
    Ability to engage community resources, treatment centres, social services networks, non-profit organizations and community businesses.

Qualifications:
    Bachelor of Education Degree
    Valid Saskatchewan Professional A teacher certificate
    Preference for a background in physical and mental health, wellness, kinesiology
